DU Announces Quota For Single Girl Child: Delhi University has opened the portal for admission in UG program. Along with this, DU has made a big announcement under which now single girl child will get reservation under quota in UG program of Delhi University. According to DU’s plan, one seat in each UG course will be reserved for single girl child. Eligible candidates can get admission on this seat by filling their details at the time of application.
The rule will be applicable from this session
This rule will be applicable from this session i.e. academic session 2024-25. If the only child of any couple is a daughter, then they can apply under this seat. DU has also launched the Common Seat Allocation System Admission Portal (CSAS) for UG admission.
Portal launched for the first phase
In this regard, DU Registrar Vikas Gupta announced and said that reservation will be given to the only child under the supernumerary quota. The CSAS portal has been launched for the first phase. The second phase will start after the results of Common University Entrance Test 2024 are released.
How can you register
- To register for admission in DU’s UG courses, first go to the official website i.e. ugadmission.uod.ac.in.
- Here you will see the registration link, click on it. As soon as you do this, a new page will open. On this page, first of all you will have to provide your personal details and 12th score.
- After this, you will have to fill in the details of your CUET UG application number. From here, DU will get your name, signature, photograph etc.
- Now enter your details like email ID, mobile number and parents details etc. and go to the Supernumerary category and select it.
- Pay the prescribed fee and submit the form after checking it properly.
- Not only save the confirmation page but also take a printout of it. It will be useful for you in the future.

Last year seats were left vacant
Last year, around 1000 seats in DU remained vacant. Even after four rounds, all the seats were not filled. Some had withdrawn their admission, while some had dropped out. To avoid this, this time some reserved categories will be given 20 percent more reservation and some will be given 30 percent more reservation.
